BOOTING PROBLEMS
One of the main specialties of Red Fusion experts is battling and solving computer booting issues. For users, these issues can be quite frustrating and mysterious, especially if you have a high-end machine that should not be presenting you with these kinds of issues. Let us begin by bringing some of these issues to light and offering potential solutions.
Booting problems
You press the power button and nothing happens, your computer isn’t working. After you've checked to see if the power source is working properly, it's safe to assume you're dealing with a hardware issue. However, if your computer does start up, you may encounter the following issues:
1. Black screen after the start up. Viruses, software or hardware failure, or a lack of storage space are all possible causes.
2. The BIOS boot screen. Users frequently say that when they turn on their computer, it gets stuck on the BIOS page. In these cases, it can also happen that the keyboard is not responding, so you literally can’t do anything. This is probably the motherboard issue, and should be approached with caution.
3. The Boot device not found. Sometimes users receive an error message saying “boot device not found”. There could be several reasons for this, ranging from incorrect boot order in BIOS, to hard disk connection issues.
4. The Boot manager failure. When restarting your computer, you may receive the following message: "Windows boot manager boot failed." This usually happens when the boot manager tries to compare two device signatures incorrectly.
Possible booting solutions
Always check your connections and restart your computer, as the first step in all possible and impossible situations. Just try restarting first! You could even try taking out the battery, waiting a few seconds, and then replacing it.
For BIOS related issues, users can always try and change the booting order manually. Enter BIOS, use arrow keys to navigate the correct boot order, press F10 to save changes, exit and restart the computer. You can also try restarting the computer in Safe Mode. To enter Safe Mode, simply press F8 when you see a BIOS message.
Another option that might be useful is to use some boot software such as Windows Boot Genius. If none of the above work, the only option left is to reinstall the system.
In this short overview we discussed some booting problems, and possible solutions. However, our advice is to always contact the experts for opinion and professional help, since you can easily make even more damage simply by trying to reinstall your system for example. If you live in New Jersey, and your computer is not booting as it should, contact Red Fusion, and we will take care of it!
