PS5 vs Xbox Series X

Gaming consoles are evolving every year, offering users higher standards in overall performance, graphics, loading speed and control options. On today’s market, the greatest competitors in game console industry, Sony and Microsoft are pushing the limits higher and higher, satisfying all their customer’s needs. As a company that deals with all sorts of gaming console repairs, Red Fusion is always following trends, trying to pick some new tips and trick along the way. That is why, today we are bringing you a short comparison of the two most popular consoles nowadays, and we hope it will help you out choosing the right one.

The decision whether to buy PS5 or Xbox X can be surprisingly challenging and difficult, especially if you have in mind that almost all top games are made for both platforms. If we simply compare the core specifications of both consoles, we can deduce that they are pretty similar.

PS5 Specifications

-          GPU : 10.3 teraflop AMD RDNA 2

-          RAM : 16 GB GDDR6

-          Storage : 825 GB SSD

-          Resolution : Up to 8k

Xbox X Specifications

-          GPU : 12.0 teraflop AMD RDNA 2

-          RAM : 16 GB GDDR6

-          Storage : 1 TB SSD

-          Resolution : Up to 8k

Instantly, we can say that they are almost identical, with a slight advantage for Xbox in terms of GPU and SSD. But let us talk about performance for a second. As Sony announced when PS5 was released, loading speed is tremendously better than before and it can be a game changer for some users. Let’s take one of the hottest games at the moment, Assassins Creed Valhalla. Loading time on PS5 for this game, from main menu into the game is unbelievably less than a minute, while the fast travel takes less than 10 seconds. On Xbox X load into the game took more time, but the fast travel was about the same.

If PS5 is maybe winning in the loading speed performance, it is definitely losing in design sections, since a lot of users have negative comments on the overall design of this console. It is very large and space consuming, while Xbox X doesn’t have these problems. Talking about the design, Microsoft also decided to stay with almost identical controller design as Xbox One model, while new PS5 controller has a lot of changes comparing to the old Dual Shock on PS4. For some users this might be a good thing, for some not so much, since it seems that the new PS5 controller has a lot of wasted space, especially on the touchpad.

While both consoles have a great sales numbers and plenty of space for advancement, the Xbox Series X appears to be a slightly better investment at this time. The Xbox Series X has the early lead in the next generation of consoles, with more powerful hardware, a better design, a more complete game subscription service, and a pleasant controller. However, our opinion is that you won’t be wrong if you pick PS5 as well. Just keep in mind that Red Fusion experts can deal with any potential issues you might have with your console, such as hard drive problems, HDMI repair, overheating issues and much more!
